Gamma Ray Bursts

In our group we focus on Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs) as the most luminous objects in the universe. Since a charged black hole can produce enough energy to power a GRB by means of Schwinger pair production and subsequent expansion and annihilation of the plasma, it is possible to trace out strong-field QED processes by GRB spectral analysis. Here we concentrate on the observational data from different satellites such as Fermi and Swift in order to extracting the physical information from spectrums and light curves.
After the detection of gravitational wave event GW170817 and the electromagnetic (EM) counterpart GRB 170817A in 2017, has marked the advent of multi-messenger astrophysics. The polarization characteristics of EM counterpart of the GW created by coalescence of the binary sources can be served as a unique indicator of the GW events.
